Job Description:
Morrisville State College seeks candidates for a full time Grounds Worker. Grounds Workers are responsible for maintaining the appearance and condition of campus grounds, walkways and roads. Grounds Workers serve as a member of a work crew performing a variety of grounds maintenance and manual labor duties. The activities, tasks, and required equipment and vehicles to operate vary according to the season and needs of the campus.

Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position which includes medium to heavy physical labor for extended periods of time;

Ability to use a variety of hand/power tools and motorized equipment;

Ability to communicate effectively to obtain and convey information; understand and carry out written and oral instructions;

Acceptable attendance history;

Demonstrate ability to foster a positive work environment through teamwork, and positively interact with campus community (students, faculty/staff, etc.);

Availability for frequent unscheduled overtime assignments;

Possession of a valid NYS Driver's License;

Will be required to possess a Class B CDL license by the end of probationary period.

Additional Information:
The position is assigned in Facilities with specific responsibilities assigned but not limited to the Morrisville campus. Work schedule for the position is Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. during the non-winter months; winter days/hours (typically end of November through March) are to be determined. Schedule subject to change due to operational needs.
